While watching Captain America: Civil War, this thing struck me: Black Widow is one hell of a woman. The quintessential woman-of-strength. I would even go so far as saying that she is one of the best female superheroes there are. Her hand-to-hand combat scenes are killer and there’s certainly something reassuring about her. It’s really nice to see a woman play a role that equivalent to that of men and not less. In this sense, she is self-sufficient: she does not need a man to save, protect or help her. Quite the opposite of damsel in distress and more like a female knight-in-shining-armour (given that there is no word for a female knight in English). She has an aura of importance and leaves you satisfied as audience and you cannot help but get impressed by the sight of her fighting in tight fitted pants, peplum jacket (is that right?) and leather boots like she would in her suit. Her persona is marked by strength and even individuality and that I have always appreciated in people.
In fact, I think it is the present image of Black Widow that is most satisfying: played to perfection by Scarlet Johansen and with clothing that befits a serious superhero(ine) unlike those whose unnecessary clothing portrays them like an object and sidelines the entire story. Black Widow is definitely an ideal for feminists.
i haven’t watched a movie or television in sometime, however she like a women deemed to be a superhero or supervillain!
i also see that you dropped in for a read,
thank you

Splendid! well depicted the individuality of women. The prospect of envisaging the circumstance renders greater mental strength than the physical one. There is a very famous character in Tamil literature named “Kannagi” who was known for burning her own city “Madurai” on rising to the misleading government by overriding all her divinely character and feeble heart . The pressure dumped inside caused her mental trauma which was powerful enough to burn the entire arena.
Only the moment determines the power inside than the gender of one.
Thanks for this awesome piece of writing!

My husband absolutely adores Black Widow. We are constantly scouring the stores for Black Widow memorabilia, clothes, pants, toys, lunch boxes, mugs, anything but it’s almost impossible to find. All he wants (according to him) is a ‘cool’ black widow t-shirt. He is always asking, if you can have Thor or Iron Man or Captain America on a tee, why can’t they make a men’s tee with Black WIdow?
